  • Antiseptic wash - Iodine, Antiseptic Cream, or Hydrogen Peroxide 3%
  • Petroleum Jelly
  • Rubbing Alcohol
  • Eyedrops
  • Sunblock cream
  • Activated Charcoal
  • Olive Oil
  • Sodium Bicarbonate (baking soda)
  • Eye Dropper
  • Scissors - 1 pair sharp blade, 1 pair blunt blade
  • Plastic Syringe - at least 20mls
  • Rectal Thermometer
  • Round-end Tweezers
  • Tick Tweezers
  • Gauze Pads
  • Cottonwool
  • Adhesive Tape
  • Gauze Bandage
  • Elastic Bandage
  • Muzzle - or suitable substitute
  • Your veterinarian's phone number

Pack all of the above in a waterproof, portable container, marked for easy identification. Always clean instruments after use and
replace any used items.

Some people have asked about how to carry the Hydrogen Peroxide, Rubbing Alcohol, and Olive Oil. Our solution is to use the small,
plastic, water-proof bottles that they sell in the travel section of Health and Beauty at Wal-Mart. You can pick them relatively cheap, but
they'll last for quite a while. Another solution is to buy plastic test tubes that have the twist-on tops. These are also leak-proof and will
last for at least a year.
